For those who need a "little" space...

Eric & JulieAbout Chickadee Timber Frames

Chickadee Timber Frames is a small, family-run business, owned and operated by Eric and Julie Feilberg.

We procure our own logs from the forest for processing into various wood products at our sawmill.  Those wood products are then used to build high quality, unique buildings for our customers.

We build custom, unique, high-quality traditional style Timber Frame buildings that are complete and built on-site.

Our small Timber Frame buildings can be built as a stand-alone structure or as an addition to an existing building.

Personal Service, attention to detail and constructing quality buildings is our mission.

Eric's DadAbout the Craftsman:

I have lived in East Braintree, in the woods, all of my life.  My Grandfather Haakon was a pioneer in this area, and my father Carl is a woodsman and still enjoys felling trees by hand (they don't make em like they used to!!)

At an early age, I became involved in working in the forest.  My father taught me to fell trees and buck-up logs.  I enjoyed finding good use for what the forest yielded.

EricI grew up learning the crafts of wood and metal working.  I learned how to turn raw logs into lumber by operating a sawmill for a good many years.

In the early 1980's, I was introduced to Timber Frame construction.  The beauty of leaving the exposed timbers as part of the finished product as well as the strength and durability, and the craftsmanship needed to build these structures, had me hooked!  In my mind, there are no other construction methods that can compare to the impressive Timber Frame.

In these "fast-paced days", construction projects have become nothing more than a race to complete the cheapest building, often sacrificing quality.  My philosophy is that if you build it right the first time, using high quality standards, it will last for generations and be the constant joy of whoever is living in it.
